Passing of Merna M. Brimmer, 84, of Harrison Valley, PA

Merna M. Brimmer, 84, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA.

Born September 21, 1927, in Troupsburg, NY, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Ida Finnemore Cornish.

On July 26, 1945, in Troupsburg, NY, she married Warren A. Brimmer, who predeceased her in 1990.

Surviving are:  five daughters, Margaret Huggins of Westfield, PA, Katherine (William) Van Dusen of Cowanesque, PA, Joan (Roy) Billings of Wellsville, NY, Betty (Leon) Payne of Harrison Valley, and Ann (Dewitt) Haskins of Whitehall, PA;  two sons, John (Vicki) Brimmer and Michael (Leta) Brimmer, both of Harrison Valley, PA;  18 grandchildren;  29  great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Chester Cornish of Harrison Valley and Edward Cornish of Wellsville, NY;  two sisters, Elizabeth Painter of Wellsville, NY and Florence (Joseph) McCaslin of Westfield, PA;  nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Marion E. Courtright;  a grandson, Scott A. Seeley;  and a brother, Raymond Cornish.  Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, November 26, 2011 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM.  The Rev. David R. Brelo will officiate.  Burial will be in Mills Cemetery.
