Power Failure Results in Capitol Building Evacuation
1 min readHARRISBURG – Approximately 2,000 employees were evacuated earlier this morning as the result of a power failure at the Labor and Industry building in Harrisburg.
Officials say a blown transformer was the cause of the power failure.
Powered was restored just before 11:00 am, but all non-essential employees have been instructed to take the remainder of the day off.
Employees who evacuated without taking their personal belongings have been instructed to proceed to the Atrium.
Officials say they hope to reopen the building on Friday.
