Jones Memorial’s “Dr.” Hudson a Fraud?

1 min read

According to WIVB, Channel 4 in Buffalo, Fitzgerald Anthony Hudson, 51, of Michigan has been arrested on charges that he provided false information on an application for a New York State medical license in 2007.  Prosecutors claim that Hudson said he graduated from a college in Canada when he did not.   He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted of health care fraud.  Hudson was allegedly reimbursed about $200,000 by Medicare for patient care during the time he reportedly worked at Jones Memorial in Wellsville and Noyes Memorial Hosptial in Dansville between 2008 and 2010.  He was dismissed from the Warren Hospital Family Practice residency program in July 2003.

Community Relations Director Judy Burt, who worked for Jones Memorial during the time Hudson was supposedly there, said that his name was unfamiliar to her.  She said that he may have been affiliated with the emergency room groups used at the hospital.   All doctors are supposed to be credentialed before they are given privileges at Jones, according to Burt.  Without more information, however, she would not comment more specifically on Hudson’s case.

Anyone wishing to report a concern regarding Hudson, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said, can call the Medicare Fraud Hotline at 1-800-447-8477.
