Sandusky’s Lawyer Asks for Dismissal of Charges
1 min readJerry Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, has asked Judge John Cleland to dismiss the child sex abuse charges against his client, claiming that some of the charges aren’t specific enough, and that the statute of limitations has run out on others. Sandusky, 68, is to go on trial in less than two months for 52 criminal counts that, over a period of 15 years, he allegedly sexually abused 10 boys. According to the attorney general’s spokesman, they expect to file their response to the 95-page pre-trial motion next week. Cleland may schedule a hearing on the arguments then. Former Penn State assistant football coach Sandusky denies the allegations. Jury selection for the trial is scheduled for May 14th.
