Stewardship Of County’s Water Resources In Spotlight
1 min readFrom Potter County Today
Representatives from the watershed associations serving Potter County and others interested in protecting the county’s headwater streams are invited to a picnic being planned for July 13 at the Genesee Environmental Center. Its purpose is to call attention to the multiple efforts being made to protect the water resources of Potter County, from the award-winning Triple Divide Watershed Coalition covering all public water systems in the county, to the volunteer corps that regularly monitors streams and rivers for any sign of degradation.
State Senator Joe Scarnati, State Representative Martin Causer and Potter County officials are among those being invited to attend the picnic, which is being hosted by the Genesee Headwaters Watershed Association. An accompanying program will emphasize the coordinated efforts that are in place to protect water quality in the county. Family activities and educational events are also planned. More details will be announced. (Photo by Mark Williford)
