Mansfield Man Killed in Crash
1 min readTIOGA CO. – A Mansfield man was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car crash on Route 549 last night.
State Police in Mansfield say 45-year-old Michael D. Pannebaker was traveling North when his Chevrolet Cavalier crossed the Southbound lane of travel and struck an embankment. Pannebaker’s car then re-entered the roadway in the Southbound lane and was struck by an oncoming Ford Taurus driven by 46-year-old Westley J. Brown, of Mansfield.
Police say Pannebaker was ejected from his vehicle in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Ronald Hagar at 12:24 am this morning, April 22.
Brown suffered minor injury in the crash and was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro for treatment.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Burkholder’s Garage. State Police in Mansfield were assisted at the scene by Mansfield Fire and Ambulance.
