Chance of Tornado Remains, Severe Weather to Continue into Friday
1 min readSevere weather, which has already claimed the life of a Hickox woman, will continue into Friday as a cold front continues moving through the region.
The National Weather Service says a chance of tornados remains throughout the region and into Western New York.
Tornado force winds are suspected of causing widespread downing of trees throughout the area today, which resulted in loss of power for residents and businesses.
Power is expected to be out until at least tomorrow, but a definitive resoration date has yet to be provided.
Readers are urged to check on loved ones, especially the elderly, as loss of power has crippled many communications systems. If possible, find a low area or basement for sleeping quarters.
High winds, damaging hail, heavy rain and lightning are expected throughout the night.
