Search for Kinzua Dam Kidnapper Continues

1 min read

WARREN – Warren-based State Police continue to search for the man who held a couple at gunpoint and then kidnapped the woman, later sexually assaulting her at the Red Bridge area of the Allegheny National Forest.

The suspect, portrayed in this sketch, is described as 5′ 9″ tall, with dark balding hair, a scruffy thin beard, between the ages of 30 and 40, and possibly driving a black 90’s model Chevy pickup truck with a red pin stripe. The truck is believed to have a Maine license plate.

Police ask that anyone having information in the matter to contact the Warren-based State Police at 814-728-3600.

  1. A crime this horrific certainly has low-key press coverage. A kidnapping in broad daylight in a heavily used area. With no disrespect to the victims of this crime, is there possibly more to the story? Seems a crime of this nature, a person held at gun point, a woman kidnapped then raped, would bring out the militia. Is there any update at all except “police are continuing to investigate”. The same is said by police when a mailbox is damaged. I would think this is a higher priority. JMHO

    Editor’s Response:
I completely agree, and I am doing the best to get more information in the matter. However, there is none at this time.

I plan to contact the Warren-based state police again later this afternoon in hopes of obtaining more information.

However, keep in mind that sometimes law enforcement officials will withhold information as it could jeopardize their investigation.

  2. I realize that information is sometimes withheld pending further investigation. Just seemed very low key from the beginning after the initial report. Living adjacent to this area, it is somewhat cause for concern, unless, of course, there is ‘more to the story’, which is my take on the lack of reporting by the police at this point. Again, a horrific crime with little information to the public to BOLO, etc.
