I don’t know where or why the chase started but at around 2:20 p.m. a tannish colored Jeep Cherokee-like vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed passed a car (driven by me) near the corner of Williams and Mill streets and turned onto Mill toward East Main Street. At the first set of railroad tracks, the driver worked up a blinding cloud of dust then sped toward East Main with a city police car in pursuit. Near the top of Mill Street, the driver went into the opposite lane of travel, passed two vehicles that were stopped for a red light, went through the red light and turned left onto East Main. Another police car joined the pursuit at this time. On East Main, I saw one of the police cars driving down off a side street. At the intersection of Kendall and East Main, a third police vehicle turned onto East Main, then drove up a side street.
That’s all I know right now. I’ll pass on more info as I get it.
