Arizona Quickly Passes Law to Prevent Westboro Baptist Church from Protesting 9-Yr-Old Victim’s Funeral
1 min readThe Arizona House, Senate and Governor acted in swift coordination to pass legislation that will ban picketing at funerals, effectively preventing the Westboro Baptist Church from picketing the funeral of theĀ 9-year-old girl who was killed in the Tucson shootings.
Governor Jan Brewer signed the bill tonight after unanimous votes by the House and Senate.
According to MSNBC, the legislation had dozens of co-sponsors and took but 90 minutes to complete. The Senate’s committee hearing took only five minutes.
