A public hearing focusing on the impact of Marcellus Shale drilling in Pennsylvania was held Thursday in southern Allegheny County by the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee. Chairman of the committee, Rep. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) said this is part of an effort by state lawmakers to gather up to date information on the variety of effects the growing Marcellus Shale drilling industry has on Pennsylvania’s communities.
