Austin Man DUI following Crash
1 min readPORTAGE TWP. – An Austin man has been charged with DUI following a crash that occurred on Route 607 in Portage Township on April 29.
Police say the crash happened as 51-year-old Anthony D. Lamer was traveling west on Route 607. Lamer told police he swerved to miss a deer and then lost control of his vehicle.
Upon losing control, Lamer’s 2005 Ford Focus struck an incline embankment along the northern shoulder of the road, and then traveled along the embankment for approximately 180 feet, before coming to a final resting position in the westbound lane of travel.
Police say upon investigation they determined Lamer to be driving under the influence.
Charges of DUI and related summary offenses will be filed in District Judge Annette Easton’s courtroom.
