Austin Man, Others Arrested on Numerous Drug Charges

2 min read

An Austin area man was arrested on numerous drugrelated charges as a result of a state police investigation that began almost a year ago.

Dave Stanley Dynda, 55, was taken into custody following a raid of his residence on Windy Boulevard in a subdivision in Costello. Also arrested as part of the investigation were Tanya Beimel, 26, who was living with Dynda, and Katlyn Kear, 22, also of Austin.

Police said the investigation began in November of last year when they were called to the Dynda residence to investigate a skirmish between Kear and Beimel. During questioning, police said Kear handed over two prescription bottles that contained pills and a substance the investigating officer believed to be LSD. Kear said Dynda had given her the bottles and asked her to hide them in her underwear until the police were gone.

Dynda denied that the bottle belonged to him, police said, and to prove it, he explained this his medications are kept in a safe in his bedroom. Dynda then proceeded to open the safe for police, exposing more “drug-related contraband.” Police then received a search warrant and found numerous other drug-related items.

Beimel, who asked to speak to police privately, told officers that she had been given pain killers by Dynda on occasion and that she had served as his quasi-secretary, recording transactions for him that pertained to drug deals. Among the items found in the residences and/or on the accused that were crime lab tested were: oxycodone, alprazolam, dihydrocodeinone, LSD, propoxyphene, marijuana, marijuana seeds, crystal methamphetamine, oxymorphone and amphetamines. Additional items that were found, but not sent to the Erie Crime Lab, included paraphernalia used in the growing, manufacturing and delivering of marijuana, burnt pieces of foil, snorting straws containing residue, pipes, digital weighing scales and a plate with drug residue on it.

Dynda and Beimel were each taken into custody Monday based on the warrants and charges stemming from the 2009 search. During Monday’s arrest, police said additional drug-related contraband was seized at the Dynda residence. Additional charges are pending from this second seizure.

Both Dynda and Beimel are free on bail.

Charges filed against Dynda from the 2009 incident include possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, tamper with evidence and conspiracy.

Charges filed against Beimel stemming from the 2009 arrest include possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and conspiracy.

Kear was not involved in the second arrest. Charges against her stemming from the first incident include possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, conspiracy and tampering with physical evidence.

No date has been set for the preliminary hearing.
