Bath Man Charged With Double Homicide for Father's Day Slaughter

1 min read

BATH, NY – Bryan M. Ashline, 23, of Watervliet has been apprehended and charged with two counts of second degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend and their three month old baby.

According to police Ashline stabbed and killed his ex-girlfriend, Trieste R. Clayton, 25, and their 3 month old son on Father’s Day.

Police Chief David Rouse said that at 10:49 pm on Sunday the Steuben County 911 Center dispatched police units to 9 Mount View Rd. West for a report of an open phone line. Five minutes later officers arrived to find a grisly murder scene.

Ashline had fled the scene of the crime in a 2010 Chevy Impala. The OnStar system in the vehicle allowed police to track him down.  At approximately 5:05 am yesterday police were notified of Ashline’s location, and found him sleeping in his car at the Unadilla Rest Area off Interstate 88. He was taken into custody without incident.

Ashline was then transported to the Bath police department where he was interrogated.

A previous 2009 altercation resulted in Clayton placing a protection from abuse order against Ashline.

Ashline was escorted by nearly a dozen officers to a courtroom for arraignment amid a slew of bystanders shouting “baby killer” and asking why he committed such a heinous act on Father’s Day.

He is due to appear in court again on June 28 at 3 pm.

  1. I sure as hell hope someone treats him the way he treated this poor woman and her baby when he gets to the big house. What a sick bastard.
