Bidding Open on $513K Andover Main Street Project

The village has a little over $513,500 in improvements in mind for Main Street. Bidders have until Nov. 23 to submit proposals. The enhancement project will include new curbing and sidewalk on parts of both sizes of the street, minor drainage and highway improvements and the installation of new period lighting.

“I think the impressive part of it is the entrance from Route 21 into the school,” said village Mayor Maynard Towner. “There’s going to be a new entrance there and, of course, our street lighting.” There are two bids so far, one from a local company and the other from a Binghamton firm, he said. Towner said he thinks a bidder from last spring will bid again.
