Bids approved for state forest, park projects

Various bids were awarded in recent weeks for construction and repair work within state parks and state forests across Pennsylvania:

G&R Charles Excavating LTD, Port Trevorton, will proceed with driveway installation in Weiser State Forest, Conyngham Township, Columbia County, after a bid of $58,540 was awarded April 12. Also, a bid of $2.6 million was awarded March 30 for general construction at the site to Lobar Inc., Dillsburg.

Plumbing construction work also will proceed at Weiser State Forest’s Resource Management Center Complex, Conyngham Township, after a $122,565 bid was awarded April 6 to Linco Construction Inc., Hunlock Creek. A bid of $476,799 also was awarded April 6 to Benell Inc., Bloomsburg, for mechanical construction at the state forest site, and an electrical construction bid of $495,000 was awarded to Urban Electrical Contractors, Moscow.

A bid of $139,460 for rehabilitation of sewage system sand mounds at Presque Isle State Park, Erie County, was awarded April 12 to Chivers Construction Co. Inc., Fairview.

An emergency contract bid for $40, 830 was awarded April 6 to Breons Inc., Pleasant Gap, for replacement of a sewage treatment plant generator at Bald Eagle State Park, Centre County.

And, in Elk State Forest, Lumber Township, Cameron County, a bid of $243,205 was awarded Feb. 28 to Francis J. Palo Inc., Clarion, for bridge replacement along Whitehead Road and over Whitehead Run.
