Blood Donors Will Receive Gift Valued At $25

Members of the public are encouraged to support a blood drive being held on Thursday, Sept. 27, from noon to 4 pm, at the Gunzburger Building gymnasium in Coudersport, in conjunction with Community Blood Bank. All donors will receive a gift valued at $25. Photo ID is required and donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. More information on blood donation is available at 1-877-842-0631.

The local blood supply has often dipped below safe levels. Community Blood Bank is the only supplier of blood to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and other area medical facilities. A pint of blood can help as many as three surgical patients, cancer victims and others in need. Those planning to donate are asked to use the doors at the corner of West and Water streets.
