BELMONT, NY – A Bolivar man has been sentenced to spend four month’s worth of weekends in jail, after stealing from the Bolivar Fire Department over the course of ten years.
Sixty-one-year-old Thomas J. Mooney was convicted of stealing $119,000 from the department, while he served as District Treasurer.
In addition to weekends in jail, Mooney was sentenced to 5 years of probation and 6 months of electronic home monitoring. He was also ordered to pay court costs and fees.
