Bradford Bicyclist Hit by Car and Flown to Hamot Medical Center
1 min readBRADFORD – Edna Thomas, 84, of Smethport was operating a vehicle that struck Amy Vleminckx, of Peach Street, Bradford earlier today.
Police report that Thomas’s passenger side mirror hit Vleminckx, throwing her to the ground and causing head injuries. Vleminckx remained unconscious for a period of time before being flown by Lifestar medical helicopter to Hamot Medical Center.
Vleminckx was treated at the scene by first responders from the Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department and paramedics from the Bradford City Fire Department.
Earlier reports that the victim was a teenager were debunked by Bradford Chief Dave Doyle, who said that wasn’t the case, but wasn’t certain of her exact age.
