BRADFORD – An investigation into the explosion that destroyed a Helen Lane home in Bradford on Sunday remains open.
Officials have yet to determine the cause of the blast.
The PA State Police Fire Marshal said the explosion happened around 7:20 am, while owner Thomas Federspiel was outside. Federspiel was able to rescue his two dogs, and only suffered minor injuries.
The explosion and subsequent fire caused an estimated $250,000 in damages.
Authorities say they have tested natural gas delivery lines in the area, and have found no malfunctions.
This is the second home in Bradford to have exploded in recent months. In December, an Interstate Parkway home was destroyed by an explosion. Owner Robert Butler sustained injuries in that incident.
The cause of that explosion was never determined, despite an investigation by the PUC and DEP.
