Buffalo Teen Falls to Death at Letchworth State Park

CASTILE – Andrew G Brinkman, 19, of Buffalo died Saturday evening as the result of a fall from a cliff at Letchworth State Park.

Officials say Brinkman fell 300 ft. to his death from a narrow pathway on a rock cliff shortly before 9:30 pm.

A MercyFlight medicopter was dispatched, but could not land due to the location and lighting. Brinkman’s body was eventually found on the Genesee riverbank, where he was pronounced dead. His remains were transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office in Rochester for an autopsy.

Part of the park was closed briefly, but was reopened this morning.
