Cause of Fire that Destroyed Austin Home Unknown

AUSTIN – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and Austin Fire Chief have been unable to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed an Austin home on Friday, May 11.

Police say the home at 41 State Street in the Village of Costello, which is owned by 40-year-old Daniel Majot, suffered significant damage and eventually collapsed. Because of the severity of the damage, police say the cause of the fire is still undetermined.

Majot was not at home at the time of the fire, according to police.

Estimated damages exceed $200,000.
