Christine M. Camera
2 min readChristine M. Camera, 95 of 53 Hobson Place, Bradford, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born on January 20, 1915 in Smithdale, PA, a daughter of the late Antonio and Elvera Cantone Sebastian.
On August 22, 1959 in the St. Bernard Catholic Church she married Thomas A. Camera who preceded her in death on February 19, 1977.
After moving to Bradford in 1933 she worked as a housekeeper for many local families for a number of years; she was then employed by the former Emery Hotel as a waitress until being hired by Zippo Manufacturing where she worked until her retirement in 1980. While working at Zippo she also held a part-time job as a waitress at the former Roman Villa Restaurant.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church.
She loved to cook and bake for all of her friends and family who affectionately knew her as “Aunt Chris”.
She is survived by three nephews, James “Jim” Belardia, Ralph DeSantis, both of Bradford, Pete Pierotti, Lewis Run, four nieces, Christine Belardia, Geraldine Grego, Dorothy Frontino, all of Bradford, Phyllis Edwards, Olean, a great nephew, Rev. Samuel Slocum, Lewis Run, and several other great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Belardia and an infant brother, William Sebastian.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation but friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church with the Rev. Samuel Slocum, pastor of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, Lewis Run, as celebrant, and the Rev. Leo Gallina as co-celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
