1 min readClair James LEWIS, 82, of Mills, PA, formerly of Ulysses, PA, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Born January 16, 1930, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Harvey and Mary Button Lewis. He was raised by Charles and Iva Lewis Hand in Ulysses. He was married to the former Esther Erhard, who survives. Jim was employed by the Eberle Tannery in Westfield, PA, Robison Royal in Rochester, NY, and St. Marys Carbon in Galeton. Surviving besides his wife, Esther, are: a daughter, Sharon (Ronald) Soule of Mills; two sons, Elwood (Debra) Lewis of Ulysses, PA and Clair (Carol) Lewis, Jr. of Avon, NY; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Waneta (Otis) Shoemaker of Rochester, NY; a brother, Harvey (Louise) Lewis, Jr. of Troupsburg, NY; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Logan C. Lewis; and two brothers, Elwood Monte Hand and Kenneth L. Hand. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Brad J.
