Community Encouraged To Support County Blood Drives

Potter County employees are sponsoring blood drives on Thursday, March 1, from 11 am to 3 pm, at the Gunzburger Building, and on Wednesday, March 7, at Potter County Human Services in Roulette from 12:30 to 4:30. These are being held in conjunction with Community Blood Bank. Members of the public are encouraged to join employees in donating a pint of blood. All donors will receive a gift from Community Blood Bank in appreciation of their support. Photo ID is required and donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. The local blood supply is still below safe levels. Community Blood Bank is the only supplier of blood to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital and other area medical facilities. A pint of blood can help as many as three surgical patients, cancer victims and others in need.
