Congressman Coming To County May 20 To Meet With Veterans

Congressman Glenn Thompson is coming to Potter County next week to meet with military veterans and their families. Purpose of his visit is to share information about federal programs and benefits and to obtain input from veterans on their needs or concerns. Rep. Thompson will be at American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport from noon to 1:30 pm on Friday, May 20.

The congressman said some veterans who would qualify for assistance may be unaware of services such as business training, counseling, continuing education and housing. He’ll be joined at the May 20 session with a representative from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Similar veterans’ outeach meetings are scheduled for May 19 at the Warren Legion (1 to 2:30) and at the Bradford Legion (7-9 pm).
