1 min readRecently, the McKean County Conservation District delivered a hands-on presentation on Wetland Ecology to the students of the Potter County Junior Conservation School sponsored by the Black Forest Conservation Association.
Each year, the Black Forest Conservation Association holds the Potter County Junior Conservation School to promote awareness of our environment and the principles of conservation. This one week summer school course in conservation education covers topics on soil, water, forests, fields, fish and wildlife and related outdoor activities.
The McKean County Conservation District for the last two years has sponsored two students between the ages of 13-15 to attend the week long school. This year Dustin Zetwick and Caleb Wian were sponsored to attend the school which “provided an opportunity to learn more about our great land and the importance of protecting it”, as stated by Caleb.
