Cottage House in Smethport Burns to the Ground

An early morning fire has destroyed the historic Cottage House restaurant in Smethport.
Firefighters got the call at 2 a.m., and say the building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.
There’s no word on the cause of the blaze yet, but firefighters say they expect to release more information this afternoon.
The Cottage House Restaurant is listed on the Smethport Historic Registry, and had been in operation since 1899.
