Coudersport Man Escapes Injury after Falling Asleep, Flipping Car
1 min readABBOTT TWP. – A Coudersport man escaped injury after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing his Chevrolet Cobalt on Route 44 this Saturday, August 27.
Police say 20-year-old Damen A. Brodhun was driving north on Route 44, approximately two miles north of the Village of Oleona, when he feel asleep while negotiating a right-hand curve in the road.
Brodhun’s car traveled off the eastern side of the roadway where it struck a ditch and an embankment, before overturning onto its driver side.
Police say Brodhun, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was uninjured, and was able to free himself from his car.
Brodhun’s car suffered disabling damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Kightlinger Motors of Coudersport.
Police say Brodhun will be charged with careless driving.
