Coudersport Man Gets Stuck in Snow while Fleeing from Police
1 min readULYSSES – A Coudersport man was arrested after he attempted to flee from police, only to get his car stuck in the snow.
According to State Police, 54-year-old Steven R. Jeffers, of 1022 Whitney Creek Road, Coudersport, was driving a white Chrysler Cirrus in the area of the Hickox-Ulysses Road last night, when he was observed committing several traffic violations.
Police say they attempted to stop Jeffers with lights and sirens, but he took off. The pursuit ended with Jeffers’ car getting stuck in the snow, at which point he was apprehended.
Jeffers was charged with felony fleeing and eluding, DUI, and numerous summary traffic offenses.
A video arraignment was held in front of District Judge Delores G. Bristol, who set bail at $2,500 unsecured.
A Preliminary Hearing has been scheduled for February 18 at 9:00 am.
