Coudersport Man Suffers Minor Injury in Dirt Bike Accident
1 min readGENSEE – A Coudersport man was transported to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville for treatment of minor injuries after a dirt bike crash in Genesee on Monday, July 25.
Police say 33-year-old John L. Hurlburt was operating a 1982 Yamaha XJ550 south on Route 449 when the crash happened.
Hurlburt told authorities his pant leg got caught in the kickstand spring, and when he tried to remove it the kickstand went down. Hurlburt then looked down to flip the kickstand back up, and while doing so ran off the roadway and struck a flowerbox, before laying the dirt bike down in a driveway.
Police say Hurlburt, who was wearing an improper helmet, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Hurlburt will be charged with careless driving.
