County Applying For Help With Archiving, Record Retention
1 min readFrom Potter County Today
Potter County is trying to qualify for a joint federal/state program designed to help local governments organize and protect important records. It’s a project being spearheaded by the Pennsylvania State Archives to help county governments archive records and historical documents.
If the Potter County Commissioners’ application is approved, a professional archivist/records manager will be assigned to work with elected officials, department heads and administrative personnel on archiving, backing up and purging county records. At the same time, a staff member of the commissioners’ office is attending a training session this week on archiving and records retention.
