County Natural Gas Task Force Preparing For 2012

Next meeting of the Potter County Natural Gas Task Force will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 7 pm in the Gunzburger Building auditorium. An agenda is being compiled and will be announced. Committee representatives who would like to have any specific items added to the agenda are asked to contact Commissioner Paul Heimel at pheimel@pottercountypa.net.

With the assistance of the Potter County Education Council, Potter County Conservation District, Penn State Extension and other partnering agencies, the task force’s Education Committee recently applied for an Environmental Education Grant from the Pa. Dept. of Environmental Protection. If the grant is approved, portions of the funds will be used to bring recognized experts in certain fields related to the gas industry — air quality and alternative uses of natural gas, for example — to conduct local workshops and appear before the Task Force.
