County Safety Committee Steps Up Activity

The county’s Safety Committee has scheduled a series of training sessions that will save the county money on insurance premiums. The county’s insurance provider will discount rates if all county employees receive training in the proper use of fire extinguishers. Sessions are being conducted by Lucinda Greene, operations and training officer for the Potter County Emergency Management Agency.

The Safety Committee is also updating evacuation plans and emergency procedures for all county buildings and will soon be holding fire drills. Additionally, the committee has established a real-time “hotline” county employees can call on mornings of inclement weather to determine if there are any delays or closures of county offices.
