Fans of Discovery Channel’s “Storm Chasers” were shocked to learn of the death of one its stars.

Wednesday night’s episode was called “Dedication” and was dedicated to storm chaser Matt Hughes. It featured Hughes’ final chase as he led the team to what Discovery Channel said was “their best tornado intercepts ever.”

Watching the episode, some fans were concerned that he died while storm chasing, but producers said that’s not the case.
