DEP Allows EOG to Resume Drilling Operations
1 min readDEP Secretary John Hanger today gave Enron Oil and Gas Resources the green light to resume drilling operations throughout all of Pennsylvania. The DEP earlier allowed EOG Reources to resume partial operations.
EOG Resources is the company that owns the well in Clearfield County that suffered a ‘blowout’ earlier this month.
Although the company has been given the go ahead to resume operations, they are still restricted from drilling any new wells at this time, as the well that blew up was near completion, and officials are still trying to determine what went wrong during that process.
An investigation focusing on what happened with the blowout is ongoing, with a report expected within two weeks.
