Donated Flags Memorialize Sept. 11 Victims/Heroes

Now posted in lighted showcases in the main hallway of the F. W. Gunzburger County Office Building in Coudersport are two special commemorative flags. One exhibit is the Flag of Honor, which includes the name of the known victims of the terrorists’ attack on America on Sept. 11, 2001. The second exhibit is the Flag of Heroes, recognizing police, firefighters and other emergency responders who were called to service on that day. The flags were donated to the county by Ralph Caldwell (shown), a military veteran who was a driving force behind the creation of the Military Wall of Honor at the Coudersport Arboretum. The Potter County Commissioners thank Mr. Caldwell for his donation and encourage the public to view the flag exhibits, located just inside the building’s Main Street entrance.
