Dorothy Uplinger, 91, of Emporium

Dorothy M. Uplinger, 91, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, formerly of 521 E. Allegany Ave., died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys, on Wednesday (February 9, 2011) morning. She was born January 31, 1920 in Boswell, PA a daughter of the late Harvey Miller and Edna Dwire Barnard. On November 28, 1936 in Cumberland, MD., she married the late Guy Uplinger.

Mrs. Uplinger had worked as a housekeeper for several area people and also at the Cameron County Health Care Center and the Emporium Health Center until she retired at the age of 81. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, bingo, shopping and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Friday (February 11, 2011) at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor, Abundant Life Tabernacle, officiating.

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium
