Dr. Roland M. GRIESEMER, 75, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of Boyertown, died Monday, December 20, 2010 in the home of his daughter in Olean, NY.

Born May 21, 1935, in Yellow House, PA, he was the son of Leroy and Estelle Moyer Griesemer.

On November 23, 1953, in Oley, PA, he married the former Dorothy M. Reifsnyder, who survives.

A graduate of Amity High School in Amityville, PA and Albright College in Reading, PA, he earned his doctorate of dental surgery from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He was a practicing dentist in Boyertown for 15 years and Galeton for 15 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Galeton, Susquehannock Trail Club, the Harrison-Ulysses-Genesee Senior Center, Boyertown Rotary, and Galeton Rotary.

Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, are: three daughters, Joy (Stefan) Strunk of Oley, PA, Kim (Gerald) Foster of Galeton, PA, and Michelle (Tracy Pilon) Copenhaver of Olean, NY; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell (Marlene) Griesemer of Douglassville, PA; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Ray and Ralph; and a sister, Rhea Detharidge.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 16, 2011 in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galeton, PA. The Rev. Karl W. O. Runser, III will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.
