Earthquake Damage Assessment Requested By County DES

Potter County Department of Emergency Services is asking anyone who experienced damage from the earthquake that hit the east coast shortly before 2 pm Tuesday to contact the office at 274-8900. Tremors were reported throughout Potter County. Any damage caused by the quake will be reported to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. A 5.8-magnitude earthquake rattled the east coast. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake occurred at 1:51 with an epicenter nine miles south of Mineral, Va., and had a depth of about one kilometer.
