Edward Rogers Outman, Sr.
1 min readEdward Rogers Outman, Sr. passed away Thursday (Dec. 2, 2010) at home, surrounded by family, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Outman was born on March 6, 1937, in Tioga, Pa., to Herbert and Nettie (Button) Outman.
Edward worked much of his career as an auto body paint specialist for Ford Motor Company in Texas.
Ed is survived by a son, Edward R. (Teresa) Outman Jr. of Rushford; three daughters, Teresa Thomas and Cindy (Wayne) Becker, both of Wellsville, and Rebecca (Michael) Briggs of Whitesville; three sisters, Alberta (Merle) Grover of Genesee, Pa., Pauline (Jim) Haskins of Florida, and Anna Crance of Geneva; two brothers, Urvil (Ethel) Outman and Harold Outman Sr., both of Genesee, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Geneve Outman, Helen Outman, Ava Hawks, Gladys Jeffers and Mary Jean Stone, and two brothers, Raymond Outman Sr. and Jesse Outman Sr.
Ed was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and woodworking. But more than these, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in Wellsville. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home immediately following the visitation, with Rev.
Michael Reeves of North Eulalia Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Yorks Corners Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
