Elizabeth D. Yerdon, 75, of 25 Melvin Ave., Bradford,  passed away, Monday, February 28th, 2011 at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born January 21, 1936, in Bradford she was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Sudock) DePetro. She was a 1954 graduate of St. Bernard School, and later graduated form the Radiology program at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY

On November 25, 1965 Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church she married James J. Yerdon who died on December 13th 2003.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a member of the Rosary Alter Society and taught catholic education classes for several years.

She began her career as a X-Ray Technician at Bradford Hospital, after ten years of service she  left the hospital and devoted her life to raising her family.

Surviving is a daughter, Kathleen M. Atkins of Marietta GA, three sons; Timothy J. Yerdon of Plymouth MI, Kevin  M. Yerdon of Denver, CD, and Christopher J. Yerdon of Bradford, two sisters; Sister Josephine  DePetro SSJ of Erie, and  Mary Lou Graham of Stockton CA, one brother, Joseph DePetro of West Chester OH, two grandchildren; Todd James Yerdon, and Mary Kathryn Atkins, and several nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am on Friday March 4, 2011 in St. Francis of Assisi Church with Father Samuel B. Slocum pastor and Rev. Leo A. Gallina, pastor of St. Bernard Church as concelebrants. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. Committal services and burial will in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Church, Building Fund St. Francis Drive Bradford, PA 16701.
