Emporium Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase
A 20-year-old man from Emporium, Pennsylvania, was arrested following a high-speed police pursuit in northern Pennsylvania late last year, according to a Pennsylvania State Police public information release.
The incident occurred on November 29, 2025, at approximately 8:37 p.m., in Liberty Township, McKean County. Pennsylvania State Police from the Coudersport Patrol Unit initiated a pursuit of a 2000 red Chevrolet Monte Carlo after the driver failed to stop.
The operator led troopers on an approximately five-mile chase along Portemporium Road and Scaffold Lick Road, reaching speeds in excess of 110 mph. The pursuit was terminated when officers lost visual contact with the vehicle.
Troopers later conducted further investigation to identify the driver. An arrest warrant was issued for Daniel Coffman, 20, of Emporium. He was taken into custody by PSP Emporium without additional incident.
Coffman was arraigned and remanded to Potter County Jail.
The case is listed under CAD/Case No. PA 2025-1484053, investigated by Trooper Patton (Badge No. 15411).
High-speed pursuits like this highlight the dangers posed to public safety on rural roads, where excessive speeds can lead to catastrophic outcomes. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding potential charges beyond fleeing and eluding in a vehicle, or any information on the outcome of Coffman’s case at this time.
