Environmental protection will be the theme of a program scheduled for 7 pm Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Coudersport High School auditorium. Upper Allegheny Watershed Association, First Fork Watershed Association and God’s Country Chapter of Trout Unlimited are sponsoring the program, which is open to the public.
Dr. Peter Ryan from Trout Unlimited will discuss efforts to monitor local water quality and share information for those who seek to protect drinking water supplies from potential impact from natural gas drilling. Bill Belitskus from the Allegheny Defense Project will discuss activities in the Allegheny National Forest.
A controversial film on the natural gas industry, “Gasland,” will be shown and discussed. A future program is planned, during which “Haynesville,” a film with another perspective on the gas industry, will be shown.
