Ex-state Officials Reject Gas Drilling Environmental Group’s Lawsuit

It spilled over into U.S. Middle District Court last fall when an environmental activism group sued two state officials and an intelligence gathering firm, claiming it had been defamed.
The Gas Drilling Awareness Coalition, insisting it has only peaceful intentions, claims the libel occurred when its activities were included in state homeland security bulletins that rated potential terrorist threats.
The furor caused by the accidental release of one of the confidential bulletins is well-known.
