Felony Charges Filed

A Bradford man, George JONES, is now facing a felony charge of Aggravated Cruelty after a dog in his care died due to alleged neglect. According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, the initial charges against JONES included misdemeanor and summary offenses, which align with the statutory guidelines for animal cruelty cases.

However, the statute also provides for an elevated charge of Aggravated Cruelty, classified as a third-degree felony, when the abuse or neglect results in the death of an animal. As a result, JONES is now facing this more severe charge. The case highlights the importance of animal welfare and the consequences of neglecting or abusing animals.
