MIDLAND – A 20 yr. old volunteer fire fighter is facing charges of Homicide by Vehicle after an accident last summer that killed a motorcyclist.
Authorities say that Jonathan Hogue, 20, of Midland was passing vehicles and driving up to 75 mph while his passenger was “playing with” the emergency lights in his vehicle. Hogue’s vehicle ended up hitting a motorcycle driven by Bryan Loeffler, 23, of Canonsburg, killing him.
Authorities said that there was no emergency at the time. Hogue faces several charges in addition to Homicide by Vehicle, including involuntary manslaughter.
Hogue’s attorney called the accident, “terrible, terrible accident,” but refuses to comment on the charges.
