1 min read

DAUPHIN CO. – A former Coudersport-based State Trooper, who earlier this year pleaded guilty to sending naked videos of himself to what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, has been sentenced.

Douglas Nick Sversko, age 43, of 216 Lamplight Lane, Lewisburg, PA, was sentenced today to five years of intermediate punishment, including 6 months of house arrest.

Sversko was also ordered to register as a sex offender, attend sex offender training, and to have no unsupervised contact with children.

Sversko was a Pennsylvania State Trooper since 1993. At the time of his arrest he was assigned to Troop F in Montoursville.

He retired from his position in April of this year, following his arrest.

  1. So just because he’s a former police officer he only has to do house arrest??? This is bs!!! What happened to the consequences being the same for everyone? It seems like this has been going on a lot lately. 2 people who commit the same crime, but just because the one individual was a former police officer, govt official, has money or knows a “higher up,” etc. they get a much lighter sentence than the average Joe!! What is wrong with our court systems? This pervert deserves to be in jail!! He was an officer of the law, his job was to protect & serve, you’d think that this would continue on in his everyday life and he wouldn’t be out there endangering the lives that he use to protect!!!!!
