PITTSBURGH – A former PA State Senator has been sentenced to state prison on charges of campaign fraud and forgery.
Jane Orie, age 50, was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey A. Manning to serve 2 1/2 to 10 years for using her state-funded staff to perform campaign work.
Orie was convicted of five felony counts for theft of services and conflict of interest, as well as nine related misdemeanors. She was immediately taken into custody following her sentencing.
Orie resigned from the Senate in May.
