1 min readROULETTE-Fred N. Haskins, 60, of North St., passed away Tuesday (Mar. 13, 2012) in the WCA Hospital, Jamestown, NY, after an apparent heart attack. Born July 9, 1951, in Port Allegany, he was a son of C. Norman and Betty L. Briner Haskins.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of “69”, where he was a member of two undefeated football teams.
Fred had worked with his father for many years in the family business at Norman’s Collision, Maple St., Roulette, and later with Ayers Contracting Co. of Austin, PA.
Fred enjoyed the outdoors, hunting turkeys, boating, and golfing. He also worked with the Roulette youth baseball program for several years.
Surviving are two sons, Jason F. Haskins of Roulette, Brinton N. (Alicia) Haskins of Ft. Riley, KS; six grandchildren, two brothers, Robert N. Haskins of Port Allegany, Bruce E. (Phyllis) Haskins of Sumter, SC; a sister, Marcy L. Raydo of Smethport; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday (Mar. 17, 2012) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, with Rev. H.D. Youngblood, Jr. officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Roulette Youth Baseball League or a charity of the donor’s choice.
